It's no secret that 70% of a buyer’s journey is complete before she or he even reaches out to sales. But for small businesses, the time and effort — not to mention the cost — of creating a website can often be off-putting.
If I had a dollar for every small-business person who's told me, "I'm so busy working in the business, I don't have time to work on the business," I'd be, well, not rich, but definitely able to afford more expensive specialty coffees.
This is where Combo comes in. Without explicitly trying to, we've organically carved out a sweet spot working with small businesses to create design-rich, easy-to-navigate and well-written websites — at an affordable price.
Small businesses have some online advantages over their bigger, corporate, less personal competitors. They can tout their uniqueness, sprinkle personal touches and relay the personalities of their owners. The smaller sites are less complicated, yet still make a strong impact.
Case in point is our most recent website launch: Maplewood Sales & Brokerage. Maplewood brings consumer packaged goods — including pharmaceutical, health and cosmetics — to the Canadian market. But aside from what they do, it's who they are that really makes them special. Maplewood is a small, family-run business infused with kindness, integrity, charm and a lot of hard work.
Here are few other sites we also launched this past year: Cornish Margolis Boyd Mediation, Fort Capital, Fraser River Industrial Association, Level 10 Fitness & Health and Rob Bosinger Memorial Weekend (AKA Bozocup).
Working with the Maplewood team to bring their online story to life was a pleasure. Luckily, the feeling was mutual. The Maplewood team says, "We desperately needed to upgrade our online presence and the team at Combo Creative were efficient, professional and extremely innovative. They provided us with a fresh new look and exactly the sort of updated content we were looking for."
Small businesses have big personalities to share online, and we love being a part of that. We may have stumbled across the small-business-website-development niche accidentally, but we're definitely sticking with it.
